Revamped Website

I am so excited to have the website updated and looking like a professional did the work.

And she did.  Her name is April and she is a  website designer.  She reworked all of the site.  I needed it redone when I left DexMedia.  I was not happy with their elementary lay out of the site.  And we did not get a lot of traffic from it.

But with April’s help I have already heard great things about the site and referrals from people searching online. Yeah!

Now I get to learn how to update and add items to the site.  That will be a trick since I still need help from my guru George with this site on occasion.  But April thinks I can maintain the site on my own.  We shall see.

 

Upcoming Market

Please mark your calendars for this Saturday and come by for our First Annual Market.   This has really mushroomed!  I credit Deanna for her hard work and perseverance to acquire the vendors we have lined up.

To let you in on some of the vendors we have:  Scentsy, Team Spirit Essentials, Motive Cosmetics and Crafts for both indoor and outdoor.

We are also raffling off quite a few items so be sure to get your tickets.  They are $3.00 for one or $10.00 for five tickets.  The items will be on display as you come in the salon, in  the front entry way.  Be sure to take a look!

Walking the Komen, Dallas Race for the Cure 2014 5K

Well Saturday was a beautiful day for a race. 

A friend and I have walked in the Komen race for about 15 years.  And this one was especially nice.

I never met her but she has provided me with a wonderful addition to my family.  And I thank you, Janice Holleman.

 

 

 

My friend and I finally found someone to make us shirts!  We are officially Team Tiara.  The shirts are made by Team Spirit Essentials. 

Her name is Elena and she does great work.  I know I will be using her in the salon for special promotions.

Elena is a one woman show,  all products are personalized by her.  She uses quality Gildan t-shirts.  Ours are a heavy weave to handle the cool morning air for the walks.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, this year another staff member did the walk, Deanna.  Even though we did not see her I know she enjoyed it and helped in the cause.  She is enthusiastic about a cure also.  We may have to expand our Team!

Our New Nail Tech!

I am so excited to announce the arrival of our nail tech.  Her name is Soraya.

I have known Soraya for years. I know her work and her reputation. Soraya has many years experience in all areas of nails and toes. She will be doing manicures and pedicures, of course.

Along with those, Soraya will also be doing artificial nails. For her acrylic she uses Tammy Taylor, she also does Gels and Shellac nails by CND.

She will be with us on Thursdays and Fridays. Spots are filling up fast – call today to get yours! 972-418-8888

 

ART WORK

Finally, the art work on the windows is done. There should be no mistaking the salon for any thing but a salon!
This was more of an undertaking than I anticipated.
One vendor, I chased for weeks until I gave up realizing he must not need my money.

The second vendor fired me! Imagine some one not being able to work with me! Those of you who know me are chuckling about now and I deserve it.
Finally, the third vendor Banner and Sign Express was the charm. Randy and his graphics designer worked with me until I felt like this is what I wanted to see out front for a long time.

UPDATE

Again it has been a while since I filled you in. A lot has gone on in the last 5 months.
Siree had to take a leave to tend to her mother who passed in late April. She is back and reconnecting with customers. Call her for an appointment. She is in the salon on Thursday afternoons, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Deanna has taken on a new endeavor. She is now doing sunless tans. She is educated and has the whole set up and turning out some beautiful tans. Give her a call. She is in the salon on Thursday and Friday evenings and all day on Saturday.
Thank you to all the new customers we have acquired since the move.  It does not seem like a year has passed since we opened our doors at the new location. You truly make our world a brighter place having joined us.

SKIN CARE SPECIALIST

We have another new staff member aboard.  Her name is Deanna.  She is a licensed Esthetician.  But to most of the populous her training is best known as a facialist.  The name has been politically corrected because an Estheticians does so much more than cleansing a face.  I will elaborate on that in the next post.

She is with us on Thursday afternoon to evening and Friday afternoon to evening and also on Saturdays.

THANKSGIVING

It has been a long time since I have written.  Much has been done in the shop.  We are almost complete in our finish out.  I knew there would be a few bugs to work out.  But, it has not been too bad getting the finishing touches done.

It only seems appropriate at this time of year to put down in writing what I am thankful for…

My family, of course, with out them I would not be where I am.  Their sacrifice and hard work helped me to become the person I am.  I can only hope I have made them proud.  It is their drive, hard work, desire to better oneself, and perseverance I thank them for.

My friends are the best.  I cannot imagine having better friends.  They are loyal, trustworthy and always their when I need them.  Even if I do not think I needed their help!

My customers, wow!  Many have been with me since I was 19 years old.  They have raised me.  And I have learned a world of knowledge from them.   I have gained the knowledge of first hand experience through my customers.  And the ones who I have only had a couple of decades or less have brightened my life immensely.

So on this Thanksgiving I give thanks to all who have touched my life.
